The Community House in Birmingham Hosts Inaugural Health and Wellness Series

The Community House is hosting its inaugural Health and Wellness four-part series, which will highlight various topics that are prevalent to the needs of area. Sponsored and in partnership with St. Joseph Mercy Oakland, the series is free to attend.

Medical experts will provide insight as well as provide the opportunity to foster an open dialogue while answering health-related questions at The Community House.

On Feb. 19, Heart and Stroke Health will be presented by Dr. Kirit Patel, who is the chairman for the Department of Medicine and medical director of cardiology, and Dr. Charles Schwartz, who is the director of cardiothoracic surgery. Spine Health in the 21st Century will be presented by Dr. Yoav Ritter, who is a neurological surgeon, on Feb. 24.

Past sessions included Advancements in Prostrate Screening presented by Dr. Sanjeev Kaul on Jan. 20 and Opioid Stewardship presented by Dr. Diane Morris on Jan. 27.

The sessions include light beverages and refreshments and additional health resources. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the presentation will follow at 6:30.
