Ted Gillary, executive manager of the Detroit Athletic Club (DAC), will be honored by the Detroit Executives Association as the Executive of the Year on Nov. 30. Gillary will be recognized for his leadership at the DAC since joining its executive team in 1994.
“Ted has played an instrumental part in the DAC’s ongoing prominence among private clubs around the country,” says Geoff Thompson, president of Detroit Executives Association. “During Ted’s tenure, the DAC renewed a commitment to its downtown location by investing substantially in the clubhouse and property, and committed to guiding the club on a quality improvement path through performance excellence strategies and employee engagement practices.”
The award has been presented annually for 35 years and honors a business or community leader who obtains exceptional leadership and devotion to the improvement of the Detroit area.
“We’re thrilled for Ted,” says Pat O’Keefe, DAC president. “This honor is well deserved and truly recognizes the great work he’s done on behalf of our club. He represents the best of the best in our industry.”
The recognition will take place during a reception including cocktails and lunch. Ticket prices range from $50-390 and can be purchased by contacting June Cox.
