Techweek Expands, Comes to Detroit In May

DETROIT — Techweek, the conference dedicated to showcasing innovation ecosystems in Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami and New York, today announced it is coming to Detroit in May.

Techweek Detroit’s conference and expo will take place on May 22-23 at the former Federal Reserve Building in downtown Detroit located at 160 Fort St. Admission prices range from $30 – $199 and can be purchased at techweek.com/detroit/#register. Additional events surrounding Techweek Detroit will take place starting Monday, May 19 and will culminate on Saturday, May 24 at the Movement Electronic Music Festival.

With its flagship event in Chicago projecting more than 15,000 attendees this June, Techweek plans to bring a similar format and energy to the Motor City. Techweek features presentations from top tech CEOs, as well as various events including a technology expo, startup LAUNCH competition, Food Truck Face Off, FashionTECH Runway Show and nightly after-parties.

Techweek Detroit will host a series of summits on topics including City of the Future, DevSummit, EduTECH, IT Summit, Startup Summit, AutoTECH, HealthTECH, and Future of Media. Speakers will include leading entrepreneurs and tech tycoons such as Josh Linkner, New York Times bestselling author and Partner, Detroit Venture Partners; Rajen Ruparell, Founder, City Deal/SVP Global Sales, Groupon; and Steve Hannah, CEO, The Onion among others. The expo will be packed with companies big and small including Avaya, Comcast, SunTel, and Bizdom portfolio companies.
