Team Schostak Restaurants to Offers Free Meals to Vets


LIVONIA —TEAM Schostak Family Restaurants will offer free meals to veterans and active military personnel on Veterans Day,  as part of its year-long Thank You Movement campaign honoring U.S. troops.

On Nov. 11, all 65 Michigan Applebee’s restaurants will celebrate by providing a free meal to those who have courageously enlisted in military service. Those eligible to receive a free meal simply need to show proof of service, such as a U.S. Uniform Services Identification Card, DDT214 Citation or Commendation, U.S. Uniform Services Retired Identification Card, a Current Leave and Earnings Statement, a Veterans Organization Card, a photograph of he/she in military uniform or by wearing their military uniform in-restaurant.

“These men and women have bravely sacrificed to protect the safety and freedom of our country,” said Barb Pasciak, marketing director. “As a token of our appreciation to their selfless service, TEAM Schostak Family Restaurants is honored to serve each of these heroes a fresh, hot meal that they can share with family and friends.”

In addition to its Veterans Day special, Team Schostak and Applebee’s will be visiting and feeding local veterans at the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor on Nov. 13 as a thank you for their dedication and service. Focused on celebrating those who serve our country all year long, Team Schostak partners year-long with the Detroit Red Wings through which they donate two tickets to every Red Wings home game to a military member and a guest, and feature a Military Mondays special every week at their Applebee’s locations, where veterans and active military members can enjoy a 30 percent discount on their meals.

Applebee’s is also donating everyday household items like washers and dryers and medical equipment to veterans or active duty military and their families in need. Friends, families and neighbors can submit stories at on behalf of veterans or active duty military and their families who need items that would help improve the lives of those who serve our country.
