TAYLOR – Hazen Final Mile, based in Taylor, has been acquired by TransForce Inc. in Montreal. Hazen Final Mile will operate as a separate division of Dynamex U.S., also a TransForce company.

“Our acquisition by TransForce marks an important milestone for our company,” says Rick Palmer, Hazen Final Mile president, who will remain with the organization.

Hazen Final Mile offers co-mingled, dedicated and white glove delivery services in more than 20 of the largest metropolitan areas in the United States. This acquisition combines the resources and operational expertise of both organizations to establish the premier final mile transportation service provider in the United States.

Palmer says the combined businesses will operate in more than 70 markets. Together, the newly joined entity will provide a platform for strategic growth in final mile distribution, retail home delivery, and other specialty services.

Hazen Final Mile will retain its own brand and maintain its headquarters in Taylor. The company has a combined total of 450 employees and contract drivers, 60 of which are in the metro Detroit area.

Hazen Final Mile customers include several Fortune 500 retailers, manufacturers, and distributors in a wide range of industries including office products, automotive, healthcare, and home products.
