BIRMINGHAM — Stratos Wealth Partners has opened an office in downtown Birmingham
John Turcotte, formerly the managing partner with Heritage Private Wealth LLC, will serve as a managing director and partner for Stratos. His son, Greg Turcotte, and Kristiana Shipway, both financial advisers, will also work at the new location at 401 S. Old Woodward.
John Turcotte has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance and financial services industry, specializing in estate planning, wealth management and insurance planning. His focus is on developing estate and business succession plans for highly compensated executives, professionals, physicians and owners of closely held corporations.

Stratos Wealth Partners has added more than 40 advisers to its network this year. The firm has more than $1.05 billion in client assets and more than 150 advisers across the country.
The new location gives Stratos a presence in a total of 16 states. The firm services clients in Ohio, California, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Virginia. Stratos plans to open new offices in Scottsdale, Ariz. and in Ville Platte, La. later this month.
