DETROIT —Strategic Staffing Solutions was awarded Top Supplier by United Services Automobile Association in their annual Supplier Recognition Awards. S3 was recognized in the Veterans Recognition category, which honor companies that make outstanding efforts to hire, empower, and transition military veterans into their work forces and communities.
In addition to being named among USAA’s top suppliers, S3 was invited to participate on one of the panels held at the Veterans Hiring Best Practices Summit held recently at General Motors’ World Headquarters in Detroit. S3’s representative on the panel was Senior Master Sgt. Marvin Daugherty, USAF, retired. Daugherty joined S3 upon his retirement from military service in 2013, where he had spent his career in both security forces and recruitment leadership positions. He is now one of the key managers of S3’s “Combat Recruiting Support Team,” a group of veterans functioning as talent acquisition specialists.
Daugherty and the team have been credited with nearly 1,000 hires (for S3’s customers and overhead staff), many of whom are military vets or spouses. Additionally, among S3’s overhead staff, 20 percent have self-identified as military vets or spouses, while another 20 percent claim a close family affiliation with the military.
