Detroit-based StockX has hired Nick Karrat as the company’s new chief marketing officer.

He is responsible for the oversight of StockX’s brand marketing, integrated marketing, performance marketing, creative, and product marketing across the globe, and will drive the company’s overarching consumer-facing strategy.

Karrat’s experience in building global brands, growing revenue, and leading high-performing marketing teams makes him a valuable asset, according to StockX. His leadership and experience across consumer products and marketplaces is expected to be instrumental in helping drive growth and elevate customer experiences across all channels.

“I’ve been buying Jordans since the ‘80s, so having the opportunity to combine my work and passion makes this a dream role,” says Karrat. “As a long-term StockX customer, I admire how the platform rewrote the rules of commerce, and changed how people buy and sell online. I’m excited to join the talented team to help further cement StockX’s position in current culture and focus on its mission to empower everyone to trade what they love.”

Karrat joins StockX from lifestyle brand Tommy John, where he was CMO and helped the company scale from one of the early standouts in the direct-to-consumer movement to a leader in the industry. Additionally, he brings experience in how brands can effectively connect with their customers in new ways, with past roles leading marketing at Boll & Branch and Plated, and holding leadership and advisor positions at companies including the Villanova School of Business, Myro, AT&T, and Citi.

He holds an MBA in marketing from Rutgers University and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from SUNY.  He resides with his family in Summit, New Jersey.
