STEP’s Brent C. Mikulski Received Incompass Michigan Apex Award for Transformational Leadership

Services to Enhance Potential (STEP), a nonprofit organization that brings employment and employment training to adults with developmental disabilities based in Dearborn, announced Brent C. Mikulski, its president and CEO, has been awarded the Incompass Michigan Apex Award for Transformational Leadership.

“I am so honored to be recognized as this year’s Apex Award for Transformational Leadership recipient,” says Mikulski. “This award represents the hard work and dedication of everyone at STEP and their continued support to be the best in the industry. It is only with their support is true transformation possible. Thank you again for this honor.”

The award recognizes outstanding achievement in the following categories: Outstanding Employer, Outstanding Community Partner, Transformational Leadership, and Lifetime Achievement, for which Mikulski won.

This award recognizes an individual or organization that has demonstrated the ability to develop and implement creative and effective leadership strategies; nurture valuable collaboration and partnership; and work across boundaries to achieve transformational outcomes with those served.

“Brent Mikulski’s passion is contagious, and he truly embodies Transformational Leadership and is a well-deserved recipient of the Apex Transformational Leadership Award,” says Carla Dean, employment and training services director at STEP, who nominated Mikulski.

“Through the strength of Brent’s leadership and vision, he been able to inspire the workforce at STEP to change expectations and motivation to work towards common goals and meaningful outcomes for the folks supported by STEP.”
