Conlin, McKenney & Philbrick, an Ann Arbor-based law firm, announced Stephen K. Postema, the longest serving Ann Arbor city attorney, has joined the law firm as of counsel.
Postema is an Ann Arbor native and has practiced law in Ann Arbor since 1986. His strong ties to the community, legal expertise, and professionalism make him a natural fit for the firm. He is a trusted legal advisor and has significant experience in managing legal and litigation risk. He will specialize in mediation, municipal law, and litigation.
While city attorney, Postema served on the board of directors of the Michigan Association of Municipal Attorneys, including two terms as the president of the board. He also served on the Michigan Municipal League’s Legal Defense Fund, assisting with legal strategy on cases impacting municipalities across the state.
He has been a speaker on municipal, employment, and other legal topics to municipal attorneys and officials, both statewide and nationally, and has taught a law school seminar on state and local government law.
