Stephen Carroll Named Vice President of Marketing for Motor

Motor Information Systems in Troy, a provider of automotive data solutions, named Stephen Carroll as its new vice president of marketing.

Motor is a Hearst company and has been a supplier of automotive data since 1903. Carroll brings more than 20 years of experience in marketing, finance, business strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and business development across software-as-a-service (SaaS), e-commerce, and data analytics industries. Most recently, he served as vice president of marketing for SemaConnect in Madison Heights.

Prior to that he served as senior director of enterprise marketing and business development at Cvent, a Vista Equity Portfolio company focused on software-as-a-service solutions for corporations and the hospitality industry.

Carroll is a graduate of the University of Arizona, earning a Bachelor of Science in finance and accounting and an MBA. Carroll will assume responsibility for steering Motor’s marketing strategy growth initiatives following director of marketing John Lypen’s retirement this summer.

Lypen was with Motor for 42 years and helped establish and build the marketing team that exists today.
