State of Michigan Names Chief Internal Auditor

LANSING — Jeffrey Bankowski has been selected to lead the Office of Internal Audit Services, housed within the State Budget Office. 

Bankowski comes to state government from Capital for Merchants in Troy, where he established a customer-centered business model focusing on enhanced service and more efficient operations. He previously worked at Asset Acceptance Capital Corp. in Warren and Teskid Aluminum in Southfield.

Bankowski has a master’s from DePaul University and a bachelor’s from the University of Michigan. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Detroit Institute of Internal Auditors where he previously served as president.
