LANSING — Pat McPharlin has been named Michigan’s new director of the state Department of Insurance and Financial Services.
Previously, McPharlin, of Laingsburg, served as CEO of Michigan State University Federal Credit Union, where he started his career and has been its leader for nearly 15 years.
He holds a bachelor’s in multidisciplinary social science from Michigan State University, and a master’s in management from Aquinas College.
The appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the state Senate.
