St. Joseph Mercy Names New Executive Director

BRIGHTON — Brynt Ellis has been appointed executive director of St. Joseph Mercy Livingston hospital and St. Joseph Mercy Brighton health center. 

In this role, he will be responsible for the day-to-day operations at both Livingston County health facilities, and play an important role in the renovation and expansion efforts taking place at both locations.

For the past two years, Ellis has worked as a senior project manager in the office of the chief operating officer at the University of Michigan Health System. Key contributions in this role include managing the development of a large-scale $164 million hospital renovation project as well as designing and executing a comprehensive stroke program. In addition, Ellis also served during this time as a health services officer in the United States Air Force Guard where he oversees health services activity at Selfridge Air National Guard Base ensuring basewide combat readiness.

Previously, Ellis directed sub acute operations at Glacier Hills senior living community where he had developmental oversight and management for the care, policy, and programs for sub acute services within the  inpatient facility. Prior to that, he served as director of Care Delivery for HCR ManorCare, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center, and was responsible for clinical outcomes and compliance for the Sub Acute nursing department.

Ellis holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing and a master’s degree in health care systems from the University of Michigan.
