The American Cancer Society in Michigan, which has its headquarters in Southfield, has named Tom Pursel chair and Susan Venen-Bock vice chair of the board of directors.
Pursel is a private wealth advisor at Merrill Lynch in Troy. His career began with Merrill Lynch, which is an investing company, in 1983. He currently works with affluent individuals, families, and institutions to create wealth management strategies and advance client interests.
Venen-Bock is the owner of SVB Consulting, a firm headquartered in Grosse Pointe. Her experience includes years of work at Ford Motor Co. and various positions in sales and marketing.
In their new positions, Pursel and Venen-Bock are volunteer leaders of the American Cancer Society in Michigan, promoting the fight against cancer and working to raise money on behalf of the organization. They will serve alongside six other members on the Michigan area board. Both have been appointed for a two-year term with a limit of two consecutive terms.
