Southfield Lawyer Named President of the Oakland County Bar Association

James Parks, partner at Jaffe Raitt Heuer and Weiss P.C., was recently elected president of the Oakland County Bar Association.

In his new role, Parks says he will ask the difficult questions impeding inclusion of members of the legal community. He says he is also committed to civility in the profession and hopes to implement training and education to affect change.

Parks is a member of Jaffe’s litigation and employment and labor practice groups. His national practice over the last 38 years includes complex litigation, traditional labor, and employment law. He is experienced representing both plaintiffs and defendants and is a certified mediator.

The association is the largest voluntary bar association in Michigan with more than 30 active committees and approximately 3,000 members. Its mission is to serve the professional needs of its members, improve the justice system, and ensure the delivery of quality and legal services to the public.
