TROY— The holiday season will officially commence at Somerset Collection on Nov. 16, when Santa arrives to his magical castle and a new store “Somerset Kids Collection” opens exclusively for children to shop.
Santa will arrive to his grand castle at 10 a.m. to usher in the holiday season for children of all ages. The morning celebration will include a WJR-AM holiday sing-a-long and a special storytelling hour with famed radio personality Paul W. Smith, who will read “Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer.”
Somerset Collection’s holiday experience includes Santa’s workshop, where Santa and his helpers greet children with memorable photos and fun games. The castle is located in North Grand Court and is open from 8 a.m. to close daily. The castle is closed on Thanksgiving Day and open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Christmas Eve .
New this year, Somerset Collection’s holiday experience will feature Somerset Kids Collection, a special holiday store exclusively for children to shop…“sorry, no parents allowed.” For a $5 donation, children will be given five gold coins that can be used to purchase gifts and have them wrapped in the store. All proceeds from Somerset Kids Collection benefit Children’s Hospital of Michigan.
Somerset Kids Collection is located in Somerset Collection North, first floor, right by Santa’s Castle. It is open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m daily.
