SmithGroupJJR Elects New Member to Board of Directors

DETROIT — SmithGroupJJR, an arcehitecture, engineering and planning firm, has elected Lise Newman to its board of directors.

Newman, who leads the Workplace Studio at the firm’s Detroit office, has worked for 30 years in programming, planning and design of workplace facilities, and related functions. Her clients in southeastern Michigan include Ford Motor Co., Google, Microsoft, Plante Moran, Lake Trust Credit Union and Olympia Development Co.

Newman came to SmithGroupJJR after serving as owner and principal-in-charge of design at Landry + Newman Architecture in Birmingham.

She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor of architecture, preceded by undergraduate study in business administration from Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas.  

Additionally, SmithGroupJJR elected Mark Kranz from the Phoenix office; Sven Shockey from the Washington, D.C. office; and Tim Tracy from the Chicago office to its Board of Directors.
