DETROIT — Smash Mouth will perform a matinee show at this year’s Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix on May 31.

“Smash Mouth will help create a great party vibe at the Grand Prix and we’re excited to welcome them to Detroit and the MotorCity Casino Hotel Stage,” says Bud Denker, chairman of Detroit Grand Prix.

As fans gear up for the final race of the action-packed weekend, presented by Quicken Loans and featuring the cars of the Verizon IndyCar Series, the alternative and popular rock group, known for their hit songs “All-Star” and “Walkin’ on the Sun,” will perform in the Meijer Fan Zone at Belle Isle Park. All Sunday Grand Prix attendees are welcome to attend the concert free of charge.

“We have drawn great crowds and response to our Sunday afternoon concerts in the past at the Grand Prix and we’re looking forward to putting on another fun show for the fans this summer with Smash Mouth,”
 Denker says.

The Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix has a strong lineup of music planned, with 3 Doors Down performing Saturday evening and local artists performing over the course of the three-day event.
