DETROIT — The Small Business Administration Michigan District Office is now accepting nominations for its 2014 Small Business Awards. Nominations are submitted by a preliminary nomination letter to the Michigan District Office via email. The nomination letter must include the evaluation criteria for the award category, including small business person of the year, exporter of the year, young entrepreneur of the year, and family owned small business of the year.
The winners will be honored at the 10th annual Michigan Celebrates Small Business awards event held on May 6 in East Lansing. The Michigan Small Business Person of the Year will be in contention for the National Small Business Person of the Year selected at the Small Business Week event in Washington D.C.
“It is more important than ever to recognize the successful small businesses that are responsible for contributing to a vibrant economy in Michigan,” said Gerald Moore, Michigan district director.
Letter of nomination should include the company’s number of employees, annual sales in 2010, 2011, and 2012, and the North American Industrial Classification code. Deadline for nomination letters is Dec 9.
