Sigma Associates Names New President

Detroit-based Sigma Associates Inc., a multi-disciplinary consulting firm, has named engineering and industry leader Jay Shah as the company’s new president. 

Shah, of Bloomfield Hills, will be responsible for executing on the firm’s strategic plan including corporate development, innovation, and business growth. He brings more than 40 years of leadership, strategic planning, operations, local, state, and federal agency coordination, and program management experience and expertise.

Previously, Shah served in several high-level executive roles within the industry including president and chairman at Spalding DeDecker Associates. In his previous roles, he led large teams, identifying and creating new lines of business, developing and expanding markets and driving operational efficiencies and quality control.  Shah has experience in all areas of engineering and infrastructure consulting and management including complex water/wastewater, transportation, and environmental programs.

He currently serves as Chairman of the Oakland County Building Authority, and as a Director of the Oakland County Economic Development Corporation. Shah previously served on Oakland University’s Board of Trustees and was a gubernatorial appointee to the Michigan Strategic Fund Board.

Shah earned his Master of Science in civil engineering, environmental and structural engineering from Wayne State University and an MBA in finance and marketing from the University of Detroit.
