Siebert Williams Shank, the investment manager of the Clear Vision Impact Fund, has announced Shannon Smith as vice president.

In his role, he will be responsible for delivering loan transactions, underwriting, and origination; portfolio management; due diligence; financial analysis and modeling; and industry research.

“Shannon’s talent in harnessing the power of the private sector to drive investment into underserved and undercapitalized communities is exactly what the Clear Vision Impact Fund was designed to do,” says Suzanne Shank, CEO and president of SWS and principal of the fund’s general partner.

“The fact that he has had such enormous success at a relatively young age makes it even more impressive. As Clear Vision begins to deploy its capital to fund and grow small businesses in minority communities throughout the country, Shannon’s vision and commitment will be a great asset.”

Smith previously worked as a banker and global philanthropy associate at JP Morgan Chase and Co. There, he focused on small business and social responsibility investment as a financial analyst.

“The Clear Vision Impact Fund team will benefit immensely from Shannon’s unique experiences that include small business lending and social impact investing,” says Chris Williams, chairman of the SWS Board of Directors.  “Shannon’s skills are an excellent complement to the diverse talents of our Clear Vision colleagues, as we evaluate the range of small business lending opportunities nationally.”

Smith attended the University of Michigan where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics.
