Secrest Wardle Names New Partners in Grand Rapids, Troy

Secrest Wardle has named Sarah Walburn as executive partner and Craig O. Pavlock, Matthew J. Consolo, and David M. Givskud as partners in the firm’s Grand Rapids and Troy offices.

Walburn will work in the firm’s Grand Rapids office and has more than 10 years of experience in the practice areas of general negligence, insurance coverage, motor vehicle litigation, and premises liability. Previously, she interned in Pittsburgh, practicing in the area of railroad litigation, which included drafting side-track agreements, litigating Federal Employers Liability Act cases, and negotiating with the Federal Railroad Administration.

Walburn, of Rockford, earned her  Bachelor of Arts in political science from Michigan State University and her juris doctor from Valparaiso University School of Law in Indiana.

Givskud, of Grand Haven, will work in the firm’s Grand Rapids office. His practice areas include construction, family law, general negligence, insurance coverage, motor vehicle litigation, premises liability, and property, fire and casualty.

Previously, Givskud prosecuted felonies as an assistant district attorney in Boston and as a litigation associate handling cases in the areas of no-fault motor vehicle insurance defense, premises liability, municipality law, and property law.

Givskud earned his Bachelor of Science in economics and history from Grand Valley State University and his juris doctor from Northeastern University School of Law.

 

Pavlock, of Lake Orion, will work in the firm’s Troy office. Pavlock has experience as a prosecutor, and practices municipal law. Previously, he was an assistant prosecuting attorney for Oakland County and spent 15 years in the warrants division, the district court division, the juvenile division, and the circuit court division.

Pavlock earned his bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Michigan and his juris doctor from the University of Detroit-Mercy School of Law while clerking for Judge Michael Batchik at the 52/1st District Court in Novi.

 

Consolo, of Birmingham, will work in the firm’s Troy office. His practice areas include, commercial and business law, environmental and toxic tort, intellectual property, advertising Injury, and product liability.

Previously, Consolo served as senior associate editor of the Thomas M. Cooley Law Review, worked as a research assistant and participated in moot court. He was also a law clerk for the Oakland County Bar Association’s Inns of Court, and an active member in both the Environmental Law Society and the Sports and Entertainment Law Society.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts in political science from Bowling Green State University and his juris doctor from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
