Sea Life Michigan Promotes 4 Employees

Merlin Entertainments, operator of Sea Life Michigan Aquarium at Great Lakes Crossing Outlets in Auburn Hills, has promoted four employees.

The promotions include: Hayley Anderson to general manager, Debbie Gibb to marketing manager, Sheri Takacs to human resources generalist, and Erik Schreefel to marketing coordinator

Anderson, of Grand Blanc, will be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations, including hiring, staff retention and sales at both SEA LIFE Michigan Aquarium and the soon to be added Legoland Discovery Center Michigan.  She has been with Merlin Entertainments since 2002, having served as catering manager, senior operations manager and general manager at various U.S. and U.K. locations during her career with the company. She earned her business management diploma from U.K.-based University of Leicester.

Gibb, of Lake Orion, will manage all marketing and advertising outreach on behalf of the destinations to build regional awareness and attract residents and tourists. She has more than 20 years of marketing experience with a focus on tourism, with past positions including associate executive director at Student & Youth Travel Association and vice president of communications and membership for the Michigan Association of CPAs. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in international business administration from Alma College, and her Master of Business Administration from Oakland University.

Takacs, of Imlay City, will be responsible for administration and employee training. Takacs has nearly 15 years of experience in the field of human resources, with past positions at Eastman Outdoors as human resources and payroll administrator, and as human resources generalist and manager for Hilton Hotels Corp., for both the Embassy Suites and Hilton Suites Hotels. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Baker College of Flint.

 

Schreefel, of Clarkston, will manage all the website content, event coordination and marketing for both attractions. Previously, Schreefel served in a variety of marketing roles that included work as a marketing coordinator for the Taubman Co. He received his bachelor’s from Michigan State University.
