PLYMOUTH — SANLUIS Rassini, a leading automotive supplier of suspension and brake components in North America and Brazil, has received the 2012 General Motors (GM) Supplier of the Year Award for its brakes division.

Rassini was chosen by the automaker for its focus on innovation through technological advances and high standards of quality and service, which enables the company to better meet the evolving needs of GM. Rassini is the only supplier in the Americas that has a fully vertically integrated rotors facility, which includes foundry, machining, coating, stress relief and FNC (Ferritic Nitro-Carburizing) processes.

“We are honored to receive this distinguished accolade from GM,” said Eugenio Madero, CEO, SANLUIS Rassini North America. “We are proud that we’ve been able to support General Motors. Being named a Supplier of the Year is confirmation of our dedication to helping provide our customers with the right solutions, and I want to congratulate the entire Rassini team who helped us to earn this recognition.”

In addition to this award, which marks the first time the brakes division received the accolade from GM, Rassini’s suspension division has been named Supplier of the Year on nine occasions.

“SANLUIS Rassini helped play a critical role in GM’s success in 2012 through their dedication and commitment to consistently exceed our expectations by being innovative, delivering high quality products and services on time and by creating outstanding value,” said Grace Lieblein, GM vice president, Global Purchasing and Supply Chain. “We are thrilled to recognize SANLUIS Rassini, who we consider to be a world-class supplier.”

Presented since 1992, the Supplier of the Year award recognizes the significant contributions of GM’s suppliers in innovative technology, superior quality, outstanding launch support, crisis management and total-enterprise cost solutions. Award winners are selected by a global team of executives from purchasing, engineering, quality, manufacturing and logistics.
