TROY — Saks Fifth Avenue has partnered with the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute in Detroit and Transition to Betterness in Windsor to present SAKS BLAST, a premier fall fashion event, to be held at Saks Fifth Avenue at the Somerset Collection in Troy on August 23. Heading up the guest list is J. Mendel Designer, Gilles Mendel, who will make a personal appearance and present his Fall 2013 Collection.
SAKS BLAST will also celebrate the one-year debut of 10022-SHOE and the premier of select designer handbag shops, with completion slated for later this fall on the main level of Saks. Also on display for guests will be our recently completed First Floor boutiques, featuring Cartier, Chanel Beaute and Louis Vuitton. The evening will include strolling cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, live entertainment and a full production J.Mendel Fall 2013 runway show atop the rooftop at Saks. Following will be an After-Blast party in the Somerset Collection South Rotunda.
Event Chairs Stephanie and Barry Zekelman, along with Honorary Co-Chairs Lil & Alex Erdeljan, are securing a list of sponsors and committee members to host the event. “Saks Blast reaches across two countries to unite us in the fight against cancer – and with a terrific night of fashion and fun, we are having a blast doing it,” said Stephanie Zekelman. To date, the hard-working event chairs and co-Chairs have secured more than $1 million in confirmed sponsorships.
“We are very excited to kick-off our fall season and showcase our beautiful, newly-renovated store,” added Ina Levinson, vice president and general manager of Saks Fifth Avenue in Troy.
