Saks Fifth Avenue to Stage Benefit for College of Creative Studies

TROY — A celebration of Detroit – from sights and sounds to food and style – will be the focus when Saks Fifth Avenue Troy presents “The Art of Detroit,” a benefit for the College for Creative Studies, on Aug. 22. The event will see Saks Fifth Avenue’s Somerset location transformed into a “virtual” Detroit with multi-level displays of iconic locations along with fashion, live music, food, and drink all designed to highlight Detroit’s gems.   

Highlights of “The Art of Detroit” include:

  • Detroit-themed food stations and drinks from local establishments including: Slows BBQ, Coach Insignia, Signature Grille, Rattlesnake Club, Valentine Vodka, Atwater Brewery, Two James Spirits, Decanter Imports, Cabresto Tequila, Taste Love Cupcakes, and Cadillac Coffee
  • Vignette displays of favorite Detroit destinations such as Downtown, Corktown, Midtown and Greektown
  • Entertainment by crooner and College for Creative Studies graduate, Ben Sharkey
  • Exclusive designer trunk shows featuring fine and fashion jewelry, clothing and accessories

The event will take place from 6-9 p.m. Aug. 22. 10 percent of sales (up to $10,000) at the event will be donated to College for Creative Studies.

Tickets are $75, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to support the College of Creative Studies.
