Detroit-based Sachse Construction, a commercial construction management firm, has announced two updates to its executive leadership team. Jay McKnee will now serve as Sachse’s vice president and director of pre-construction, and Kevin Blind joins the leadership team as vice president of commercial operations.

“Jay and Kevin are strong leaders and instrumental to the current growth of our company,” says Steve Berlage, Sachse President and COO. “Their construction expertise and dynamic leadership has raised the bar on our customer service in delivering projects to our clients and enabling the company to grow our customer base in new and existing markets.”

McKnee has been part of the Sachse team as a vice president since Oct. 2014 and brings more than 20 years of experience in the construction industry to the role of vice president and director of pre-construction. He will be responsible for managing all aspects of pre-construction services for the firm’s commercial customers through cost estimating, GMP development, lump sum bidding, procurement of trade partnerships, and constructability.

McKnee previously served as vice president of commercial operations, overseeing various projects including construction of The Scott at Brush Park, the Michigan Humane Society, Bedrock Detroit’s headquarters, and renovation to the Detroit Athletic Club.

Blind has been with Sachse since 2010 and brings 20 years of experience to his role as vice president of commercial operations. He will now be responsible for leading and managing the construction operations and strategic planning of resource allocation for delivery of all commercial projects. Additionally, he will manage construction schedules, cost control, and quality, and work with senior leadership to develop long-term plans for the organization around operational growth, development, and capacity.

Over the last seven years, Blind has contributed to various projects throughout metro Detroit, including the Detroit Foundation Hotel, Federal Mogul headquarters, Meridian Health Plan headquarters, and The M@dison Building.
