Dr. Paul Bozyk, a Royal Oak specialist in internal medicine, pulmonary, and critical care has been elected to a one-year term as chair of the Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) Board of Directors.
In this role, Bozyk will preside over meetings of the 36-member board of directors. The MSMS board sets policies and oversees operations for the medical society headquartered in East Lansing.
A graduate of the Wayne State University School of Medicine, Bozyk previously served as vice chair of the MSMS board, is a past chair of the MSMS Residents and Fellows Section, and past chair of the Young Physicians Section. He previously served as a regional director to the board, representing physicians from Oakland County. Bozyk is section head of pulmonary and critical care at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital, and medical director of sepsis for Corewell Health East Region. Bozyk also is a past-president of the Oakland County Medical Society.
The Michigan State Medical Society is the statewide professional association operating as the voice of all physicians in Michigan and is affiliated with the American Medical Association. Physician policies on various issues involving public health, health care delivery and medical ethics are set at the annual MSMS House of Delegates meeting.
