Richard Warren has joined the Birmingham-based labor and employment law firm Ogletree Deakins as a shareholder in the firm’s Detroit office.
Warren joins Ogletree Deakins from Miller Canfield, where he was a principal and the employment and labor deputy group leader.
An experienced litigator, Warren has a record of successful results at trial, arbitration, and before administrative agencies. He served as the lead attorney in numerous class and collective action lawsuits on behalf of employers.
Warren also is an advisor to management and human resource professionals relative to compliance with increasingly complex labor and employment matters, including hiring, layoffs, discipline, and termination.
Warren has experience assisting employers in their planning and growth, as well as adoption of artificial intelligence. At his prior firm, Warren led a committee on the use of generative artificial intelligence in hiring, assessment, and retention, as well as the firm’s industry task force on the usage of generative artificial intelligence.
“Richard is a strong addition to our Detroit office, and we are thrilled that he is joining our team,” says Meg Alli, office managing shareholder of Ogletree Deakins’ Detroit office. “Richard’s deep experience with complex litigation, cutting edge knowledge of AI and its impact on employers, and his proven ability to build long-lasting relationships, make him an immediate asset to our office, firm, and clients.”
Warren made the The Best Lawyers in America, Michigan Super Lawyers, and DBusiness Magazine’s Top Lawyers lists. He often dedicates time to pro bono service and is an ultra-marathon runner. Warren earned his law degree from the Michigan State University College of Law in East Lansing and earlier received his undergraduate degree from James Madison College at Michigan State University.
