Detroit-based global consulting firm Urban Science has added Richard Sands as their first external board member. Sands, founder and CEO of True North Enterprises, will join Urban Science’s Jim Anderson (president and CEO) and Laura Kowalchik (treasurer and CFO).
“The inclusion of external members on the Board is a natural evolution in the growth of Urban Science,” says Anderson. “External directors provide an independent view of corporate strategy and company performance. This initiative aligns with our mission to be an independent, self-perpetuating company which is stable, self-healing and in control of its destiny.”
Prior to founding True North Enterprises, a senior advisory services firm, Sands has worked for Microsoft, JD Power and Associates, Ford Motor Co., and Covisint.
