Hamilton Anderson Associates (HAA), a Detroit-based multidisciplinary design firm, today announced the hiring of Renee Cruse as director of interiors, where she will be responsible for overseeing the firm’s current interior design projects and expansion of the firm’s interior design presence.

Before joining HAA, Cruse spent more than 25 years as lead interior designer at the University of Michigan. She served as project manager for projects such as the North Quad and East Quad dormitories, the College of Engineering’s Beyster building, and more.

“Bringing in Cruse to fill this role is a huge win for the firm as we continue to see employee and new project growth this year,” says Rainy Hamilton Jr., founder and CEO of HAA. “Her unique perspective and approach to interior design will have a significant impact on our firm. She will be a vital player to help HAA’s leadership team continue to advance its expertise in all disciplines of design, while also helping to open up new opportunities to grow the firm.”

Cruse, who is a member of the International Interior Design Association, says that having the opportunity to use her skills in Detroit made the position very attractive.

“Joining Hamilton Anderson Associates allows me to play a role in revitalizing Detroit using creative design – two of my passion areas,” she adds. “HAA’s involvement in projects like Brush Park, Paradise Valley, and Orleans Landing provides an incredible opportunity for me, and I look forward to using my experiences in working on similar projects to help make a huge impact in Detroit.”

Cruse earned a bachelor’s degree in interior design from Eastern Michigan University.
