DETROIT — Tickets for the Stanley Cup playoffs will go on sale to the general public today and Red Wings fans will be able to purchase tickets for each of the team’s first two potential opening-round home contests against a to-be-determined opponent.

The Red Wings are seeking a playoff berth for the 23rd consecutive year, which is the longest active playoff streak in all of North American major professional sports. The Red Wings are in the first Wild Card position in the Eastern Conference standings with 86 points and six games remaining on the regular season schedule.

Hockeytown fans are able to save on post-season box office prices this spring by purchasing a playoffs ticket plan that guarantees the same seat for every possible Stanley Cup Playoff game held at Joe Louis Arena. To qualify for this offer, fans need to place a down payment on 2014-15 season tickets.

The playoffs ticket plan also offers the ‘Pay-as-the-Wings-Play’ payment option, which eliminates paying for the entire post-season up front. Fans electing to take advantage of this offer will only be charged as each game is played throughout the duration of Detroit’s playoff run.

Red Wings playoff tickets can be purchased at the Joe Louis Arena Box Office (313-471-7575), all Ticketmaster outlets and online at http://redwings.nhl.com/. For more information on playoff ticket plans call the Red Wings’ Ticket Sales & Service Office at 313-471-7575.
