Quicken Loans Helps Reunite Military Families

DETROIT — Quicken Loans is helping bring the nation’s heroes home by teaming up with the military nonprofit Operation Homefront to provide round-trip airfare to more than 400 active-duty service members or their families.

Operation Homefront will immediately begin accepting applications for travel at quickenloans.com/homefront. Travel is open to low- and mid-rank enlisted active-duty members, as well as wounded warriors. “Miles for Military” is looking to help service members in need make a special trip home to spend time with their loved ones – to witness the birth of a child, the marriage of a family member or other memorable events.

The company will provide a minimum of 400 trips and travel totaling at least 2 million miles, with a portion of travel being specifically made available for service members to return home during the December holiday season.

“There’s nothing more important than the time at home with those you love, and this cannot be overstated for our heroes who travel the world over defending our freedom,” said Bill Emerson, CEO of Quicken Loans. “We are thankful that 2 million families have trusted us with their home financing, and we are proud of our role as the nation’s largest VA lender.  As part of our commitment to these heroes, we are excited about helping ease the financial burden of getting them home to their loved ones.”

Quicken Loans is among the nation’s largest provider of the VA home loan, which allows veterans, surviving spouses and active members of the military to refinance up to 100 percent of their home’s value or purchase a home with no down payment or mortgage insurance payments.

The company is also committed to creating career opportunities for veterans, reservists, and their families through the Quicken Loans Veteran Hiring Program. Quicken Loans has a dedicated military recruiting team and a military apprenticeship program, Tour of Duty, which provides career opportunities to veterans transitioning from active-duty service to civilian life.  The company will also sponsor the Veteran’s Day weekend NASCAR Sprint Cup race in Phoenix, Ariz., which will carry the title of the Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500.
