TROY — The Quell Group has named Justin Rose as the firm’s creative director. Mike Niederquell, Quell president and CEO, says Justin’s award-winning talent in graphic design and illustration will translate into increasing brand recognition for current and future clients.

“Justin’s unique skills in cartooning and sketchnoting bring life to brand messaging in real time,” Niederquell said. “He has the distinct ability to convert conversations and brainstorming sessions into art while they’re happening. This talent, combined with his extensive industry experience, will take our clients’ brands to new levels of demand.”

Most recently Rose, of New Baltimore, worked at the Detroit Media Partnership, where he served as lead designer of the consumer marketing group. He also managed a team of designers and copywriters focused on B2B and B2C advertising and marketing. Prior to this position, Rose was design director for the Metro Times, where he was responsible for cover illustration and page layout. There, the Society of Professional Journalists awarded Rose first place in class A cover design in 2011 and 2012, and first place in class A editorial spread design in 2011. Some of his most memorable illustrations are the covers of the Metro Times’ Detroit Tigers home opener issues.

Previously, Rose held graphic design positions at the Palace of Auburn Hills and Jahlion Graphics in Clinton Township. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids.
