PwC US Announces Five Promotions in Detroit

DETROIT — PwC US announced that five professionals from its Greater Michigan Market will be admitted into the firm’s partnership. They are:

Luke Cherveny brings nearly 15 years of experience helping clients resolve tax and accounting issues and assisting in improving tax function processes. Cherveny’s experience also includes his role in PwC’s National Assurance Office and the firm’s National Tax Accounting Services/International Financial Reporting Standards-Tax practices where he contributed to a number of PwC’s thought leadership efforts including topics related to IFRS and uncertain tax positions. Cherveny is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University.

Justin Cook brings nearly 20 years of experience advising large, multinational clients in making substantive improvements in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, capital, and revenue performance while focusing on operations due diligence, carve-out services, and post-deal value capture in acquisitions. His consulting project experience spans globally and includes industries such as automotive, pharmaceutical, publishing, chemicals, mining, integrated steel mills, and electronics. He holds a bachelor’s in Japanese language and literature and an MBA from the University of Utah.

Dennis Curtis brings more than 15 years of experience in auditing, information technology, and business risk management, and internal control consulting. His experience includes helping clients with the application of Sarbanes-Oxley, internal auditing, internal controls, governance, regulatory compliance, third party reporting, information systems controls design, implementation, and evaluation. He earned both his bachelor’s and master’s of accountancy from the University of Missouri.

Sebastian (Seb) de Meel has over 13 years of experience in strategic supply chain management, operations and strategy consulting, and supply chain and operations transformations. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s from the University of Western Ontario, and holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business.

Eric Schwartz brings more than 16 years of experience advising large multinational companies in the consumer and industrial products sectors. He has helped clients resolve complex accounting and auditing issues and identify internal control improvements. Schwartz is a member of PwC’s Chief Auditor organization, which serves as a regional resource for engagement on matters involving audit methodology and policy changes. Schwartz holds his bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Notre Dame.

These new partners and principals bring more than seven decades of combined experience to the partnership spanning a variety of industries including automotive, industrial, manufacturing, consumer, and industrial products.
