DETROIT — Downtown Detroit Days, which is inspired by the original shopping event that began in the 1950s, is returning for a second year.
Woodward Avenue’s 511 Building will be reactivated and transformed into a lively marketplace highlighting some of Detroit’s best brands, artisans and food vendors. The popular pop-up biergarten, Tashmoo, also will be featured this year, bringing a one-of-a-kind experience to Downtown Detroit Days. The event will be from 5 – 11 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16; 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17; and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, at 511 Woodward Avenue, between Larned Street and West Congress Street.

A portion of proceeds from Downtown Detroit Days will benefit Summer in the City, a nonprofit that enlists college-aged leaders to bring energetic high school volunteers from throughout Metro Detroit into the city of Detroit to serve.
