United Shore, a Pontiac-based independent mortgage lender, has hired Blake Kolo as chief business officer and Lee Jelenic as chief innovation officer. Kolo and Jelenic will be in charge of making improvements within the company, including product innovation, business growth, and continuing to advance the company and the mortgage broker channel.
“Blake and Lee are exactly the kind of people who will help lead United Shore into the future, and they are fully committed to helping our mortgage broker partners grow,” says Mat Ishbia, president and CEO of United Shore. “They are in complete alignment with our company from a leadership vision and culture standpoint.”
Kolo previously served as managing director and leadership adviser at Siegfried Group’s Detroit office, where he brought in more than new 40 clients, including Fortune 500 companies. He also grew the office team from less than 10 employees to nearly 40. He was promoted to managing director in less than three years, one of the quickest appointments to the position in the company.
Jelenic was previously the CEO of Dearborn’s Ford Commercial Solutions, a new unit within Ford Smart Mobility focused on creating value for commercial customers. He also served as vice president of marketing at Ford Motor Credit Co., where he led global marketing as well as Fintech and new business development. Prior to joining Ford, Jelenic spent four years in capital markets at JP Morgan.
United Shore, home to United Wholesale Manager (UWM), has more than 3,500 team members. The company continues to grow in metro Detroit and has hired more than 1,000 employees this year and has plans to hire 800 more by the end of the year.
