PNC Bank Names New Regional President for Detroit and Southeast Michigan


DETROIT, July 12, 2010 – The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. (NYSE: PNC), today named Richard (Ric) DeVore as regional president of Detroit and Southeast Michigan.

The Detroit native succeeds David Boyle, who has been appointed chief performance officer, reporting to Chief Financial Officer Rick Johnson.

Boyle, who will relocate to Pittsburgh, will work closely with PNC’s senior management to continue to enhance financial performance and business growth plans. Boyle is a certified public accountant and has more than 20 years in financial services, previously serving as chief executive officer and chief financial officer for Wayne Bancorp prior to its acquisition by National City.

“David has done an outstanding job leading in Detroit and Southeast Michigan for more than three years. Both he and Ric will work closely to ensure a smooth transition in this important region,” said James E. Rohr, chairman and chief executive officer of PNC. “Ric’s deep knowledge of our industry, our company, our customers and the Detroit area will greatly benefit the PNC team there.”

DeVore has been with PNC since 1991 and has more than 30 years experience in financial services.  Most recently, he served as PNC’s chief credit executive for commercial lending and has held numerous business line management roles throughout his career. Active in the Pittsburgh region, DeVore serves as a member of Risk Management Associates (formerly known as Robert Morris Associates), Pension Real Estate Advisors, and the International Counsel of Shopping Centers.

As PNC’s regional president for Detroit and Southeast Michigan, DeVore, who is originally from Dearborn, Mich., will relocate to the Detroit area, oversee the company’s business strategy and community investments in the region, and be active in the Detroit community.

DeVore earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in business from Wayne State University, where he taught banking and finance courses for four years. In addition, he completed the Wharton School of Advanced Risk Management Course in 2008.
