Plymouth’s Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center Announces Two Promotions

Robert Lyscas and Charlie Westra have been promoted to COO and director of manufacturing services, respectively, at the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center in Plymouth.

Lyscas served as vice president of manufacturing services for five years. He also has more than 40 years of experience working in the manufacturing and quality fields. His experience lies in quality management, engineering, and supplier assessment and development.

As COO, Lyscas will oversee seven departments including manufacturing services, information technology, sales, marketing, human resources, research services, and facilities. He will also assist small and medium-sized manufacturers apply Industry 4.0 digital manufacturing solutions.

Westra will manage the organization’s team of 12 consultants and trainers. He will also continue his role as a consultant and instructor, providing expertise in supervisor skills and leadership development.

“As we look at an ever-evolving marketplace, we too must adjust to meet the needs of our clients,” says Mike Coast, president of the center. “These promotions will enable us to continue to advance our service levels for small and medium-size manufacturers across Michigan.”

The center is dedicated to supporting Michigan manufacturers. It offers consulting services to meet the needs of clients’ business needs.
