What: Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson will present his triennial budget for fiscal years 2011, 2012 and 2013 to the Board of Commissioners July 7th. He will emphasize how the county’s prudent financial management and cooperation among elected officials has produced a balanced three-year budget that maintains delivery of quality services to residents during challenging economic times. Oakland County remains the only county in the United States to budget on a three-year cycle.

Patterson’s budget message includes the following topics:

  • Job attraction programs in Oakland County
  • Projected real estate values and property tax revenue through 2013
  • Current financial condition of county government and future budget outlook through 2016

When: 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

Where: Oakland County Board of Commissioners Auditorium, 1200 North Telegraph, Pontiac, Michigan.

Excerpt: “This budget was balanced without a tax increase. It preserves jobs, which are necessary to ensure delivery of needed services to the Oakland County citizens. It is flexible enough and manageable enough to get us through the next three years which will prove to be the most financially difficult yet for Michigan governmental units.”
