OCC Foundation Appoints New Executive Director

BLOOMFILED HILLS — Oakland Community College has appointed Kathryn Rusak as executive director of the Oakland Community College Foundation.

Rusak joins OCC from Wayne State University where she served as director of development for the College of Education and the Irvin D. Reid Honors College. Rusak also has 10 years of experience working at Wayne State University as a senior major gift officer.

As executive director of the OCC Foundation, Rusak will lead the college’s anticipated fundraising, work to build a community of supporters and friends, cultivate relationships with college alumni and play a crucial role in the college’s upcoming 50th anniversary celebration.

Rusak of Farmington Hills earned a bachelor of arts in psychology from the University of Michigan. She attained her master’s degree in public administration with a concentration in nonprofit management at Wayne State. She is an alumna of the Detroit Regional Chamber’s Leadership progarm and has been active in fundraising for the Breast Cancer 3 Day Walk and March of Dimes March for Babies.
