BLOOMFIELD HILLS — Terri Ticknor Gilbert has been named the new executive director of the Oakland County Bar Association and its charitable arm, the Oakland County Bar Foundation.

Gilbert most recently was director of child welfare funding and juvenile programs for the State of Michigan’s Department of Human Services. She replaces Lisa Stadig Elliot, who last fall announced her decision to resign to continue her education.

“Terri Gilbert brings with her a depth of experience working in leadership-level positions within nonprofit organizations and will undoubtedly continue the momentum of Lisa’s strong leadership,” said the association’s President James Derian.

Gilbert has a bachelor’s  in psychology from Oakland University, a master’s in social work from the University of Michigan and a post grad certificate in executive leadership from the University of Michigan.

The Oakland County Bar Association, with more than 3,000 lawyer members, serves the professional needs of its members and works to improve the quality of legal services to the public.
