SOUTHFIELD, Mich. — Michigan-based Blue Nectar Spirits Company today announced the official launch of its new super-premium tequila, Blue Nectar™ Tequila (Blue Nectar.) Blue Nectar began with a simple, driving passion to create small-batch artisan tequila products with flavors uniquely their own, yet universally renowned. While plans for wider distribution are underway, Blue Nectar initially launched on October 1, 2011 in the Michigan and Colorado markets. The brainchild of BBK, Ltd. founder and chairman, B.N. Bahadur and his family, Blue Nectar is truly a labor of love. With the help of a team of spirits industry veterans and tequila aficionados from across the country, the Bahadur family crafted a super-premium tequila of unprecedented smoothness and character.
“I have long been a tequila lover but I’ve always found it difficult to find one that I felt was ideal,” said Bahadur, founder of Blue Nectar Spirits Company. “With Blue Nectar, we have created a strong, new super-premium brand within the tequila category; and we chose to plant our roots right here in Michigan.”
With three expressions including their Silver, Reposado and Special Reserve, the Blue Nectar story begins in the blue agave fields of Jalisco, Mexico where Maestro Jimadors carefully hand-select each plant to be cooked and pressed. It continues with the Maestro Tequilero who carefully oversees the crafting of Blue Nectar’s three 100% blue agave expressions. His efforts can be seen in each of the three distillations that ensure Blue Nectar Silver achieves clean, crisp perfection; his ingenuity can be tasted in the delicate blend of reposado and limited production extra anejo tequila that creates Blue Nectar Reposado. His skill can also be admired in the infusion of spices into a relaxed, bourbon barrel-aged tequila that crafts the rich, layered flavor of Blue Nectar Special Reserve.
Blue Nectar Spirits Company will introduce Blue Nectar at invitation-only events in both Birmingham, MI and Denver, CO this Thursday, November 10. Locally, downtown Birmingham’s Barrio Tacos and Tequila will host a private, strolling dinner featuring modern Mexican fare perfectly paired with signature Blue Nectar cocktails. Chloe Mezze Lounge and Discotheque, Denver’s premier upscale nightclub, is the venue of choice for the Colorado launch. Guests will have the chance to indulge in samplings of all three Blue Nectar expressions.
