Northwood’s Auto Show Celebrates 50th Anniversary

MIDLAND — The annual Northwood University International Auto Show  features more than 500 new domestic and imported cars, trucks, recreational vehicles, vans, experimental, and specialty vehicles, plus various exciting automotive aftermarket products. The theme for this year’s largest outdoor new car Auto Show is “Cruising Through the Golden Anniversary.”

 “This year’s theme, ‘Cruising Through the Golden Anniversary,’ really focuses on the significance of this milestone event,” said  Adam LaFurgey, chair of th show. “We want to celebrate the past, present and future of the show and honor all of the hard work and dedication demonstrated by the students who have invested their talent into making this show such a success. This is a very special show for many people and we want to make it one to remember.”

With approximately 50,000 guests annually, the NUIAS is an event for the entire family,” said Chelsea Shartle,vice chair of operations. “This year we are not only celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Auto Show but also acknowledging how far the industry has come over the past five decades.”

The event includes a Classic Car Show on Sept. 29, is organized and executed by the students of Northwood University. The Auto Show will be held the weekend of Sept. 27-29 on the Michigan Campus of Northwood University located at 4000 Whiting Dr. in Midland. Show hours are from Noon to 6 p.m. Sept. 27; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept.  28; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 29. Many exhibits will line the Mall Walk and offer a variety of food, information and entertainment.
