'North' Among Last Films to Receive Incentive

A post-cataclysmic world is the premise for an up-coming film, North that is being shot in Detroit this fall, featuring Patrick Schwarzenegger as one of the leads.

The film received approval for up to $140,000 in incentives by the Michigan Film Office before House Bill 4122 was passed in July. The bill eliminated the ability for films to apply for incentives. All films that were approved previously to the Bill passing are still eligible to receive their funding. The incentive amount North will receive is based on the film spending around $399,000 in total and hiring 45 employees and 35 extras from Michigan.

Matt Ogdens, a documentary filmmaker, is directing the movie. Filming began in July and is expected to wrap up at the end of August.
