WEST BLOOMFIELD — The Friendship Circle, 2013 Walk4Friendship, which takes place Labor Day Weekend on Sunday September 1st, is proud to announce that icon and former news anchor Diana Lewis will emcee and lead this year’s event. During Diana’s illustrious career she has often given herself to many causes and events involving children and her joining up with Friendship Circle is fitting.
Featured entertainment includes the nationally acclaimed Chicago Boyz Acrobats who have been featured on the hit shows, America’s Got Talent and Ellen. The Chicago Boyz will perform from 2p.m. to 2:30p.m. at the Jewish Community Center.
The 2013 Walk4Friendship is expected to draw thousands, as has been the case in years passed, and the goal is to raise more than $500,000. The festivities get started at 12:30p.m. with opening ceremonies at Friendship Circle (6892 West Maple between Drake and Halsted), followed by a simultaneous 5K and 1-mile walk which begins on the Friendship Circle grounds at 12:45p.m. Participants in the 5K, and the walk, return to The Jewish Community Center (Northwest Corner of Maple and Drake in West Bloomfield at 1:15p.m. That’s when attendees will be able to sample delicious food and get involved with a good game of laser tag, horse back rides, a dunk tank and much, much more. Admission is free but donations are welcome.
