DETROIT, March 22, 2011 — Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is bringing balance to the lifestyles of Michigan’s young adults through Young Adult Blue Max, a new product designed specifically for individuals between the ages of 19 and 30. The plan offers medical plus preventive dental and vision coverage for less than $100 a month and is a “paperless” product. Members will manage everything from enrolling in the plan and making payments to tracking their bills online.

“We’re excited to introduce this innovative product to some of our most valuable customers: our young adults,” said Terry Burke, vice president of Individual Business at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. “Young Adult Blue Max offers individuals the quality coverage they’ve come to expect from the Blues, plus additional features like an accidental injury deductible waiver. All of this at a cost that won’t break their budget.”

The accidental injury deductible waiver is an added bonus to Young Adult Blue Max, offering members health care coverage that will protect them in the event of an accidental injury. Besides coverage for accidental injuries and emergency care, the plan also offers enhanced preventive services including immunizations and office visits, plus annual preventive dental and vision exams.

In addition to the health care benefits, Young Adult Blue Max members are eligible to save money on gym memberships, fitness attire, groceries and more through the Blue Cross discount programs Healthy Blue XtrasSM and Blue365®.

Young Adult Blue Max is part of MyBlueSM, a suite of individual products offered by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan to individuals at different stages in their life. For more information about Young Adult Blue Max, visit bcbsm.com/youngadult.
