STERLING HEIGHTS – Freedom Hill Amphitheatre, one of the region’s premier outdoor entertainment venues, announced today that it is adding Bob Weir and RatDog along with Dwight Yoakam and The Devil Makes Three to this season’s 2014 summer lineup with a show on Aug. 30.

Bob Weir & RatDog began as a side project for Grateful Dead rhythm guitarist Bob Weir and bassist Rob Wasserman. After the Grateful Dead disbanded in December 1995 following the death of Jerry Garcia, RatDog became Weir and Wasserman’s main band. RatDog primarily performs Grateful Dead tunes, cover songs and some original work.

Popular since the early 1980s, he has recorded more than 21 albums and compilations, charted more than 30 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, and sold more than 25 million records.

Tickets for the show range from $10 to $55 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday. A pre-sale begins at 10 a.m. Wednesday and runs through Thursday evening. Information can be accessed by “liking” the Freedom Hill Facebook page or signing up for a weekly newsletter at freedomhill.net.
