Neogen Develops Simple, Precise Test for Mold Toxin Zearalenone

LANSING, Jan. 16, 2012 — Neogen Corporation (NASDAQ: NEOG) has developed a simple test to detect precise amounts of the mycotoxin zearalenone in grain samples. Zearalenone-contaminated animal feed or grain can cause a wide variety of reproductive problems if eaten by livestock.

Neogen’s new Reveal® Q+ for Zearalenone adds to the company’s unequaled line of simple, quick, and fully quantitative tests for mycotoxins — a line that also includes tests for the major mycotoxins aflatoxin and deoxynivalenol (DON) in a state-of-the-art format.

After only 6 minutes, Reveal Q+ for Zearalenone delivers precise results ranging from 50 to 1200 parts per billion (ppb) of zearalenone in corn and wheat. Reveal Q+ test strips are read in Neogen’s AccuScan® III lateral flow test reader to deliver the precision of more demanding test methods.
